The Christmas album that started it all with me - somewhere around 1956 my parents bought this 1954 (recorded in August) mono (of course) release of MUSIC OF CHRISTMAS, shown here with its original cover.  I played it summer and winter and everything in-between (I was born in '52).  1958's version with the poinsettia cover was completely re-recorded mainly for the purposes of stereo with only slightly minor changes in tempo and orchestration, probably variations that would take place over time anyway, as CS 8176.  The original edition has an "honest early 50's" sound, Hi-Fi in its early days.
